In the 1960s, an Indian journalist crosses the border into Pakistan for a research assignment, expecting nothing more than a few stories, unfamiliar streets, and a temporary stay.

She doesn't expect him.

A respected Pakistani police officer, bound by duty, reputation, and a family name that leaves little room for mistakes.

Their first meeting is anything but romantic. Their worlds are different, their loyalties are questioned, and neither has any intention of letting the other become a part of their life.

Until one unexpected incident changes everything.
Circumstances force them into a marriage neither of them chose-and suddenly, the woman who came to Pakistan for a story finds herself sharing a life with the man she never meant to meet.

What begins as obligation slowly turns into something neither can name.
