Max Hatter x Reader | Twisted Lycoris | Descendants Fanfiction

✶To the rest of the world, she was a quiet girl chasing a melody. To him, she was the only song he ever wanted to play - and she didn't even remember the tune.

✶Someone took her past. Someone wants her future. And as red spider lilies begin to bloom on the boundary between life and death, trusting the boy with the purple coat might be the only way to find out who she truly is... or the very thing that breaks them both.
Some melodies are worth burning down a divine legacy to save.

✶Arriving at Auradon Prep carrying a heart heavy with phantom grief and a leather case holding her father's wooden violin, [Y/N] asks for only one thing: to fade into the quiet background and lose herself in her music.

✶As the daughter of Hecate, she has spent her entire life under the shadow of a bitter mother and a god-like lineage she never asked to inherit. But the memories wiped from her mind leave a hollow ache - and her forgotten past on the Isle of the Lost is not nearly as buried as she believes.

✶Max Hatter - the rebellious son of the Maddox Hatter - carries the agonizing burden of remembering everything she was forced to forget. Beneath his sharp wit, clockwork medallions, and protective cynicism lies a boy wired for worthlessness, holding onto a secret melody and a quiet promise made back on the Isle.

✶When dark forces begin to move in the shadows - manipulating forbidden alchemy, ancient Underworld magic, and silent betrayals - [Y/N] finds herself spiraling into a web designed to use her soul as a key to an ancient power. To save her, Max must fight to anchor her back to reality before the poison of the past swallows her whole.

✶Set against a backdrop of clockwork gears, tea rituals, and blooming crimson spider lilies, Twisted Lycoris is an atmospheric, slow-burn dark fantasy romance about trauma, found family, and choosing a simple, mortal love over the crushing weight of a divine legacy.
