Emergency channels have been circulating the same message on loop for hours now, before the night even had time to turn into morning. News outlets across several states started reporting the same thing: unnatural growths have been documented on Staten Island. What began as a boost of flora across the parks and green areas had rapidly morphed into a self-sustaining forest of gargantuan proportions.

To the public eye, this is a rapidly growing anomaly reserved for the Avengers to investigate and contain.

To the Avengers, this is their worst fear come true: HYDRA's most valuable asset is rumoured to have freed herself of her duties.

Primeval is a MCU Avengers fic set in a present-day AU, following the events of WandaVision, Agatha All Along, Multiverse of Madness, and only semi-considerate of Infinity War/Endgame.

In this AU continuation, Tony and Natasha did not remain dead, and the surroundings of their resurrection will be touched upon within the story.
Instead of intergalactic threats, 2026 brings along the ruins of HYDRA trying to piece themselves back together into one cohesive beast, aiming for one final strike. Relentless and desperate, a dying animal entirely, HYDRA's last hope rests with their best concealed weapon so far: their Green Witch. Or, at the very least, the only Green Witch HYDRA's gotten to know over the years.

Not the only one the Avengers will have to deal with, though.
