Everyone wanted the position.

Being chosen as Lucien Vale's personal assistant meant a good salary, a prestigious job, and the chance to work directly for one of the city's most successful CEOs.

Naturally, countless people applied.

But the interviews were... strange.

Applicants would enter a room with four interviewers and come out completely different. Some left crying, others stormed out insulting the company, and a few simply walked away without saying a word.

Nobody seemed capable of surviving the interview.

Until Ethan.

He was the last applicant-and instead of breaking under the pressure, he did the opposite.

He broke the record.

Every question, challenge, and test thrown at him, he handled effortlessly. By the end of it, the position was his.

It should have been a simple success story.

Except Ethan was hiding something.

Before becoming a personal assistant, he had been involved with the mafia, underground networks, and one of the most infamous hackers the underground had ever known.

A hacker whose identity had never been discovered.

Now Ethan has supposedly left that life behind and is trying to live normally.

Unfortunately, his new boss makes that difficult.

Lucien Vale is confident, observant, infuriatingly charming-and apparently enjoys flirting with the one person who refuses to flirt back.

Ethan tells himself the teasing means nothing.

Neither do the lingering looks.

Neither does the strange tension between them.

But the longer Ethan works for Lucien, the harder it becomes to hide his past-and the harder it becomes to ignore what is growing between them.
