Emilia Lopez has a plan.
Graduate. Come home to Los Angeles. Find a job in PR. Preferably for someone famous.
Becoming the favourite nuisance of her older sister's best friend wasn't technically part of it.
But Tim Bradford makes it far too easy.
He's serious. Controlled. Permanently unimpressed. And after one badly received nickname and an increasingly ridiculous collection of sunshine-themed gifts, irritating him becomes Emmy's favourite part of being home.
Tim has known Emilia Lopez for years.
Or at least, he thought he had.
To him, she was always Angela's little sister-the kid who disappeared to university and came back five years later with a degree, a talent for getting under his skin, and a pair of green eyes he absolutely does not need to be noticing.
Then an undercover operation goes wrong before it even begins.
Suddenly, Emmy is wearing a wedding ring.
Tim is answering to a different name.
And for the next few weeks, they're expected to convince some very dangerous people that they've been married for two years.
The house is fake.
The names are fake.
The photographs, the memories, the marriage-
all of it is an alibi.
There's just one problem.
The longer Tim and Emmy pretend to be in love, the harder it becomes to remember which parts they're pretending about.
And if Angela Lopez ever discovers that her best friend is falling for her little sister...
Tim might prefer his chances undercover.
