Where the Blue Begins

Before blue meant sadness,

it was just blue.

It was the sky above a neighborhood you thought would always look the same. A blanket dragged from room to room. Chalk on your fingers. Pool water beneath you when you finally let go of the wall.

Then you get older.

A song starts belonging to someone. An empty chair stops being just a place to sit. A familiar road changes. People you once talked to every day become names you haven't seen on your phone in years.

And somehow, blue changes too.

Where the Blue Begins is a poetry collection about growing up and realizing how much ordinary things can carry. Across these poems, blue follows childhood, memory, distance, loss, change, healing, and the small parts of life we rarely notice until they're gone.

Sometimes blue is a lake hiding stones beneath the surface.

Sometimes it's an old bedroom wall.

Sometimes it's the space that slowly grows between two people.

And sometimes,

it's just blue.

This is a book about remembering without trying to go backward. About the people and places that stay with us in small ways. About noticing an ordinary day while you're still lucky enough to be living it.

Before blue carried all of that,

it had to begin somewhere.
