Brooke Maxwell has known Dean Di Laurentis almost as long as her brother has. He's Beau's best friend. The hockey player who became a permanent fixture in their lives after freshman year. The guy who never takes anything too seriously, never seems to hear the word *no*, and has a reputation at Briar that precedes him everywhere he goes. He's also always treated Brooke like exactly what she is supposed to be: **Beau's little sister.** Until he doesn't. When Brooke comes to Briar, Dean discovers that keeping his distance was a lot easier when she wasn't constantly around. Somewhere between late-night conversations, rides home, and a friendship neither of them intended to become quite so important, the line between them begins to disappear. Brooke knows getting involved with Dean could change everything. Dean knows it could cost him his best friend. They know exactly why they shouldn't cross that line. The problem is, neither of them can seem to remember why it matters when they're alone.
