The Assistant.

"We're smarter than this." I choke out, breath coming to me piece by piece. I don't listen to myself, instead pay close attention to his body - speaking to me in a language that feels native. His lips brush against mines once more, gentle skin sending ripples throughout my body.

"I'm not, are you?" I meet his devilish brown eyes as he speaks - clinging on to every single delicious word. His grip on my thigh is tight, mind screaming at him to move further up.

"I should be." I breathe as my face inches towards his. His every facial expression is a step into unknown territory. Territory I want to own, to feel completely.

"Then why are we here, Amara?" My name spills out of his tongue in that incredible accent of his. I knew I'd never get tired of it. My hips buckle towards him, daring me to push the line.

"Fuck it."

Without another word, I press my mouth onto his.

Amara's got a deadline.

She's got one month to turn an amateur magic show into something the world cannot deny. With the looming threat of her boss telling her it's time to prove the company made the right choice hiring her, she's got to play her cards right.

She hits a wall when she realises this assignment isn't what she expected. From nights out with the crew to laughing over failed takes - she realises she's a little too distracted for her own good. None of this is helped by the presence of the host's incredibly attractive assistant, a challenge she can't accept.

Can she do it both? Do her job and love it? Or will she have to choose, and leave behind every accidental touch and almost kiss just to avoid getting fired?
