"Logan, come on, I'm going to be late!" I shout from the living room of the hockey house, already halfway to the door with my bag over one shoulder.
"I'm coming!" he yells back from upstairs.
I laugh. "You sure about that?"
There's a pause, then the sound of footsteps thundering down the stairs. Logan appears, still pulling a hoodie over his head, and shoots me a look. "Fuck off, Ava."
I grin at him. Same answer he's been giving me since we were six years old.
We've been inseparable ever since. I'm the loud one-wild, flirty, sarcastic, the girl who never knows when to shut up. He's the quieter one, the responsible one, the one who keeps me from doing something stupid... most of the time. Somehow we still fit. Like we were built to balance each other out.
When I first walked into this house and met the rest of the team, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Every single one of them was tall, ridiculous, and unfairly hot. But one of them stood out more than the rest. Dean. Same brand of chaos as me-flirty, sharp-tongued, always looking for trouble. The second our eyes met, something clicked. Something dangerous.
Logan noticed. Of course he did. He's been warning me to stay away from his teammates since the day I started hanging around, and he's especially insistent about Dean.
"He's not good for you," Logan keeps saying.
The problem is, my heart-and every other part of me-doesn't seem to care.
So now I'm doing the one thing I swore I wouldn't: starting something secret with Dean. Something messy and addictive and completely off-limits. No one can know. Especially not Logan.
I just don't know if our friendship can survive it.
A/N
I do not own any of the original characters, just Ava. Also the story is not really following the series so I hope you enjoy.
