China has spent most of her life feeling like she is watching the world from behind glass.

Born between two cultures and raised among the fragments of a broken family, she learns early that people can love you and still hurt you. Childhood disappears before she is ready to let it go, and adulthood arrives with responsibilities she never asked for.

She becomes good at pretending.

Good at smiling.

Good at surviving.

But beneath the ordinary life she builds is a girl who doesn't quite understand herself anymore-a girl who feels detached from her own memories, her own identity, and sometimes even from the person staring back at her in the mirror.

Stolen China is the story of a girl trying to understand what was taken from her before she was old enough to protect it: her innocence, her sense of belonging, and perhaps the ability to believe that she could ever be truly loved.

For years, China believes that some people are simply born broken.

Then she meets Nico.

He doesn't rescue her.

He doesn't fix her.

He simply sees her.

And for someone who has spent her entire life feeling unseen, being loved becomes the most frightening thing of all.
