When twenty-four year old Penelope Stirling moves to New York City to make her dreams come true, she moves in with her childhood best friend Summer. It was a perfect start-even though she did have her own share of the rent but she could pursue her only dream.. which was having her own veterinary clinic.

Penelope's focus barely ever wavered as she shifted from jobs to make up the funds for the clinic. Until her whole life crashed. Her boyfriend, Liam, had cheated on her. It was the most devastating experience ever especially with all the stress that had been weighing her down.

She poured her heart out over ice cream and romance movies until Summer suggested that they burn all the items she still owned from Liam. Eager to get her mind off of her ex-boyfriend, she decides to gather all the stuff she still has from him.

Unfortunately, the fire increased too quickly so Penelope called the fire department to avoid any burning down of the apartment.

Fortunately, Penelope got to meet the stoic and sexy Asher Rhodes-one of the firemen who came to their apartment. Will things spark up between them or simmer unspoken beneath the surface?
