Violet Euphemia Potter was a lot of things. Savior of the magical world, last of four magical Houses, and the only person who ever stood toe to toe with Lord Voldemort, be it in open battle or through the far more dangerous art of political dancing. By 2004, Voldemort had spectacularly decided not to continue the physical fight at the Battle of Hogwarts and simply left. The wizarding world thought they could finally breathe. They were spectacularly foolish. Two years later, he returned as Lord Marvolo Slytherin, with legitimate proof of his lineage and a seat in the Wizengamot. The Light knew who he was. The Dark and the Grey did not. As always, the Light's countermeasure was Violet. At nineteen, she was thrust into politics, grateful for every lesson Aunt Andromeda had drilled into her. For four years, she and Lord Slytherin fought a different kind of war: alliances, negotiations, threats, compromises, and political dancing. Neither could defeat the other. Thus began the Great Stalemate. Then, at twenty-three, Violet discovers that the prophecy which made them enemies may have been wrong. A confrontation in the Department of Mysteries follows. Spells fly. Tempers flare. Time-Turners fall. And suddenly, Violet finds herself in 1940. With Lord Slytherin. During the Blitz. And with an eleven-year-old boy who looks suspiciously like him, clutching her dress. This was not how a Yule party was supposed to end. But Violet was a Potter. She didn't need to find trouble. Trouble found her. And apparently, this time, it came in the form of becoming the Dark Lord's mother. Damn. Fate was strange.
