The Last Set (Simeon Nikolov)

Darina Nikolova has spent the last three years trying to forget Simeon "Moni" Nikolov-the boy who was once her best friend, her neighbor, her everything. But forgetting isn't easy when your families are connected, your pasts are intertwined, and the wounds are still fresh.

Now, at eighteen, Darina is at a crossroads. Her mother pushes her toward academics, her father is supportive, but also sometimes quite distant and her only escape is volleyball. The Volleyball Nations League is supposed to be her chance to prove herself-on the court, away from the pressure of home. She has the chance to really prove that she's the future of the Bulgarian National Team.

But then Moni walks in. He's older now, quieter, carrying his own weight of family legacy and past loneliness. And neither of them is ready for the collision.

Between intense matches and awkward encounters, Darina must navigate the chaos of the VNL while protecting her heart-and her secrets.

But as the tournament unfolds, old feelings resurface, and both are forced to confront what really tore them apart. With the future pulling them in different directions-Nebraska for her, Italy for him-Darina has to decide: Is she brave enough to give Moni a second chance? Or has too much time passed to ever go back?

A story about family, forgiveness, and finding your way home-one set at a time 🏐
