Mealla is tough; she is a warrior. She has demolished her enemies in battles, and always came out as victor. She learned all of that through survival in the Windhaven Illyrian camps with the help of a mysterious boy who was graced with whispering shadows and his two friends.

Lord Devlon, the leader of the Illyrian camp, wanted Mealla for inheriting lightning and healing abilities from her parents that he brutally murdered. He gave her two options: breed or lose her wings completely. Mealla had no option but to pick the former. She was trapped for five years until Azriel, Rhysand, and Cassian were able to rescue her.

Mealla left the Night Court without a trace, finding solace in the Winter Court. Her time there helped her cope and heal from her past without the constant reminders. That is, until she is asked to assist the Night Court with rescuing the women and children and teaching them how to fight.

Mealla has her biggest challenge yet: returning to the place that tortured her for years while also facing her friends who she left.
