Jack Abbot x OC S 1 - S 2. (S3 when out in Jan 😝). Sophie Robinavitch has spent most of her life being known as Robby's little sister. At twenty-three, she's determined to change that. Newly qualified and starting as a nurse at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, Sophie wants to prove she belongs in the ER on her own merit-not because her much older brother happens to be one of its most respected doctors. Bubbly, confident, stubborn and armed with a dangerously quick mouth, Sophie has never had much trouble getting exactly what she wants. Then, the night before everything begins, she meets Jack Abbot. Older. Infuriatingly confident. Completely capable of making Sophie forget every clever thing she was about to say. One drink turns into flirting. Flirting turns into one night. And one night shouldn't matter-until Sophie walks into the Pitt and discovers the stranger whose bed she left is not only a doctor there, but one of Robby's closest friends. They agree it can never happen again. It does. Again. And again. What begins as stolen moments and a secret neither can afford to let Robby discover quickly becomes something neither of them knows how to control. Jack insists they're casual-until another man looks at Sophie. Sophie insists she doesn't care-until Jack starts pulling away. And while half the ER seems to figure them out before Robby does, keeping their hands off each other might actually be easier than keeping their feelings out of it. But Pittsburgh Trauma doesn't stop for complicated relationships. And when a violent patient leaves Sophie badly injured, Jack is the one who tears him away from her-and Robby is forced to realise there might be someone else willing to protect his little sister just as fiercely as he always has. Because Sophie Robinavitch might be the worst decision Jack Abbot has ever made. She might also be the one he has no intention of regretting. After all, some things are worth doing against medical advice.

Imelda George has spent years holding The Pitt together. As the emergency department's night shift charge nurse, she thrives on chaos, runs on caffeine and bad decisions, and has built a reputation that ranges from respected to outright terrifying depending on who you ask. Patients trust her. Nurses follow her. Residents fear her. The rumours about her are legendary, and she's never felt the need to correct them. Life is simple. Work hard. Drink hard. Mind her own business. And avoid Jack Abbott at all costs. Trauma attending. Emergency medicine golden boy. Professional pain in her ass. For years they've circled each other across crowded trauma bays and overflowing hallways, arguing over bed assignments, hospital policy and just about everything else. Jack thinks Imelda hates him for no reason. Imelda thinks Jack is everything wrong with modern emergency medicine wrapped up in a charming smile and a hero complex. As impossible cases, impossible hours, wild nights and the brutal realities of emergency medicine force them together, old assumptions begin to crack. Beneath the arguments and mutual irritation lies something far more dangerous: respect. And respect has a way of becoming something else. Set against the relentless chaos of The Pitt, this is a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers story featuring adult themes, workplace romance, found family, medical drama, humour, heartbreak, complicated friendships, questionable life choices and two stubborn people discovering that the person they least want in their corner might be the one they need most.
