Henrietta Potter, or Hetty, twin to the Man-Who-Conquered, came to America because she wanted to be a freelance Auror and didn't want to be recognized for who she was in the UK.
She noticed that, more often than not, when Muggles were involved in strange supernatural cases, the Ministry and MACUSA didn't really do anything unless it involved their own kind. So, she decided she'd help the No-Majs instead, seeing as no one else stood up for them.
