ONE LAW, ONE WAY
One God. One People. One Standard.
What happens when people from different nations choose to worship the same God?
Does God give each group a different way of obedience-or does He establish one standard for all who join themselves to Him?
ONE LAW, ONE WAY is an investigative journey through the Scriptures, beginning with the Exodus and following the story of the mixed multitude who came out of Egypt with Israel. From there, the investigation traces God's instructions concerning the stranger, the covenant, the Sabbath, the holy convocations, and the worship of the God of Israel.
The Torah repeatedly speaks of one law for the native-born and the stranger. Isaiah speaks of foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, take hold of His covenant, and keep His Sabbath. The prophets continue to point toward a time when people from all nations will come to worship the God of Israel.
Then the investigation reaches Jesus, the apostles, the early congregation, and the teachings that emerged concerning Gentiles and the Law.
Were there always two different standards-one for Israel and another for the nations?
Or does the biblical record reveal one God, one way, and one standard of obedience for everyone who chooses to follow Him?
This book does not begin by assuming the answer. It follows the witnesses in their order, examines their words, compares later teachings with the earlier Scriptures, and asks the reader to confront the evidence.
From Egypt to Sinai.
From the stranger to the covenant.
From the Sabbath to the congregation.
From the prophets to Jesus.
From Jerusalem to the nations.
The question remains:
If God says "ONE LAW," where did "TWO WAYS" come from?
ONE LAW, ONE WAY is an investigation into covenant, obedience, Sabbath, foreigners, Israel, Jesus, the apostles, and the biblical standard by which every teaching must ultimately be tested.
