For My Boy

At nineteen, Rain Lee's life is busy, modest and happy.
Between architecture school, late shifts at a convenience store, his lifelong best friend Sky, and the monthly father-son dates that neither he nor his appa would ever willingly miss, Rain has never needed much more.

Junyoung Lee would say the same. He became a father late in life, 51, and raised Rain alone from the time he was a baby. Whatever else life has given or taken from him, Junyoung has never doubted one thing: his boy is the best thing that ever happened to him.

Then, on a rainy night in Bangkok, Rain's scooter refuses to start. The stranger who stops to help him happens to be Phayu Theerapanyakul.
One chance encounter becomes another. Phayu starts finding suspiciously frequent reasons to visit a certain convenience store. Rain discovers that the intimidating former student everyone in his architecture department knows is considerably less intimidating when he's standing across a counter teasing him. And somewhere along the way, two lives that should have had very little reason to intersect begin fitting together surprisingly well.

Phayu also comes with a family. A very large, very loud, very protective family.
Before long, the quiet life Rain has always shared with his father begins expanding in ways neither of them expected. There are new friendships, new traditions, two young men falling in love, and more people at the dinner table than Junyoung ever imagined there would be.

For a while, life is very, very good.
But Junyoung has already learned once that life can change without asking permission.
And there are some things about his past, his business and the life he has quietly built that Rain has never had reason to know.

Junyoung has spent nineteen years loving his son.
He has also spent nineteen years making sure that, whatever happens, his boy will be all right.
