Everything We Buried - Part One: The Accident

Twelve minutes after her parents died, Ryleigh Peirce received a phone call from her mother's phone.

The crash was ruled an accident. The investigation was closed. Her mother-a woman who had been sober for eighteen years-was declared drunk behind the wheel.

But Ryleigh knows something is wrong.

Because dead phones don't make calls.
Dead women don't leave unanswered questions.
And secrets don't stay buried forever.

As Ryleigh starts digging into her parents' past, she uncovers a hidden family history, a decades-old tragedy, and names she was never supposed to know-including a stranger who showed up at her parents' funeral just to make sure her father was actually dead.

Everyone keeps telling Ryleigh she's grieving.

She knows better.

Some secrets should have stayed buried. But dead things have a way of surfacing.
