The story takes place after the staff of Hermes.
Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase return to his apartment just a few minutes too late.
Someone has already ended the lives of Sally Jackson and Paul Blofis with a gun.
A gun. A mortal weapon.
Since when did any of them have to deal with that side of worldly problems?
Struck by the grief of losing his family, Percy barely has time to process what happened before Artemis gives him a quest that requires him to travel to Gotham.
Luckily, his last remaining maternal relative happens to be none other than Bruce Wayne.
Two birds with one stone, right?
Except... wasn't this guy a little too fit to be a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist?
And why does he have bruises and calluses on his knuckles?
Then there's Richard-Dick-Grayson, Bruce's adopted son, who also seems to come home with suspicious bruises from time to time.
...Bruce doesn't beat up his kids, right?
As Percy tries to settle into his new life in Gotham, he discovers that his quest isn't nearly as simple as he hoped. His target is Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin, whose criminal empire is secretly funneling resources to the Triumvirate.
Apparently, Artemis cares about her twin Apollo more than she lets on.
Because sending Percy halfway across the country to sabotage his enemies based on one prophetic dream is apparently a perfectly reasonable solution.
And Percy has a growing suspicion that his new billionaire uncle is hiding something.
Unfortunately, Bruce Wayne seems to have come to the exact same conclusion about him.
Timeline: Percy is 1 month after the last Olympian; Dick Grayson is on the verge of quitting being Robin after Young Justice League ss1.
Note: Please excuse the cover it's a sketch. If I have time I'll come finish it *ahem*
