The Fox Who Wasn't in the Script

Masami has faced monsters, gods, wars, and enough impossible circumstances to know when something has gone terribly wrong. Waking up inside a dungeon in another world qualifies.
Modern Earth is no ordinary place. Gates tear open across the world, Hunters battle the creatures within them, powerful guilds compete for influence, and a mysterious System governs the abilities of those who have awakened. Humanity has spent years learning how to live alongside the supernatural.
Then Masami appears.
A silver-haired, nine-tailed fox beastkin from the fantasy world of Lystyn, Masami possesses powers the System cannot properly identify, a past nobody on Earth can verify, and only one real desire: to find a way back to the husband and children waiting for her beyond worlds.
Unfortunately, being stranded in Japan means surviving more than monsters.
There are Hunter registrations. Government paperwork. Trains. Apartments. Shopping. Neighbors. Household appliances. Strange gods. Even stranger television.
Earth already has rules for the impossible. Masami simply wasn't in the script.
