Shane Walsh came back from the military with a chest full of medals, a mind full of ghosts, and an unbreakable bond with my father. He lives isolated in a cabin on the edge of town, a grumpy, quiet shadow of the man he used to be. My dad thinks Shane just needs a friend, so he sends me to help Shane renovate his place. As the walls of the cabin come down, so does Shane's stone-cold exterior. He tells me I'm too young, too innocent, and entirely off-limits.
