THE YELLOW PONCHO

It was supposed to be just another rainy day in Delhi.

Kabir was at a café, waiting for Meera.

Meera was stuck at the metro station.

And it was absolutely pouring.

So obviously, Kabir did the most logical thing possible.

He ran through the rain to get her.

With a ridiculous yellow poncho.

They'd been friends for eight months. Eight months of late-night coffees, stupid arguments, college assignments, teasing, almost-confessions and moments where both of them probably knew what was happening but were too scared to say it.

Then one rainy afternoon changes everything.

Because sometimes you don't fall in love in some huge, dramatic moment.

Sometimes it's just a wet street, terrible weather, two cups of tea, an old apartment, and the person you've been pretending not to love sitting way too close to you.

Maybe the yellow poncho wasn't so ridiculous after all.

Maybe it was the beginning.
