“Isabelle,” his husky voice muttered, causing me to swallow my heart that was crawling up my throat, “Look at me. Isabelle, please look at me.” Her eyes were trained on the torn threads of cloth that covered his nearly bare chest. She could feel the large man before her shake, tremble. She closed her eyes as tight as she could, trying to fight back tears. She opened them again and dragged them up his chest up to his eyes. His eyes were swimming with emotion as they lay on her. “Isabelle, you have to listen to me. I need you to leave now. Leave now, lock the door behind you and never return. Ever. Your weren’t supposed to come up here,” he whispered, She wanted to punch him. What secret could he possibly have that she couldn’t witness? … Meet Willam, the tortured prince in the woods. Many fables surround the cursed price and his disturbing lair, some more believable than others, but they all end the same. He’s bad news. Meet Isabelle Evers, naïve and witty head lady from the village. After breaking the most upmost rule, she’s sentenced to death, only to escape into the woods. What happens when innocent Isabelle meets the tortured prince? What happens when the prisoner becomes guard? And what if everything is not what it seems?
