The Quiet things I wrote for you

Letters and poems I could never send to the person I chose to leave, not because I stopped loving him, but because I was afraid of what loving me would eventually ask of him.

After being diagnosed with something that made the future feel frighteningly uncertain, I convinced myself that leaving was kinder than letting him stay long enough to watch me fade. So I ended what we had, knowing he would think it was because I no longer loved him, when the truth was that I loved him enough to carry the heartbreak alone.

Now, we remain friends. We talk, we laugh, and we exist in each other's lives as if my heart didn't still remember what it was like to call him mine.

This is a collection of the letters and poetries I never sent. It's all the apologies, the memories, the things I wish I could tell him, and the quiet grief of loving someone from a distance. Words written after goodbye, for a person who may never know that every page was, in some way, still a love letter.
