Talk to strangers

Y/N and Peter Parker have been long-distance friends for years. Y/N lives in California, while Peter lives in Queens, New York, so their friendship has mostly consisted of texting, late-night calls, sending each other random pictures, and keeping up with each other's lives from opposite sides of the country.
Peter has always been a little awkward with Y/N, especially over text. He rambles when he gets nervous, sends way too many messages at once, and sometimes types things before thinking them through. What Y/N doesn't know is that there's another reason for all of it. Peter has a huge crush on her.
And now, Y/N is moving to Queens.
Her family is relocating to New York, and she'll be starting senior year at Midtown School of Science and Technology, the same school Peter attends with MJ and Ned. For the first time, Peter is going to see the girl he's been talking to for years in person.
He's terrified.
Not because he doesn't want Y/N there. He's actually incredibly excited. But texting her from across the country is one thing. Having her sitting beside him in class, walking through the halls with him, and actually being able to see her every day is completely different.
MJ and Ned already know about Peter's crush, and they're definitely going to notice how much worse his nervousness gets once Y/N arrives.
Y/N, meanwhile, has no idea.
To her, Peter is just her longtime friend who happens to live in Queens.
To Peter, she's the person he's been secretly falling for while trying and failing to act completely normal around her.
And there's one more thing Y/N doesn't know.
Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
Only MJ and Ned know his secret, and Peter plans to keep it that way.
