Ivy Celeste McCall has been a werewolf for nearly a year. She's seen things that no normal girl does, and has done things that no human can do. The only thing normal in her life is when she begins to develop a crush on a new student - Liam Dunbar. Even that, however, doesn't stay normal for very long.

Everything changes the night that Liam is bitten. Ivy blames herself for the curse brought upon him, and despite the best efforts of her brother, struggles to see that it truly was the only choice they had to save his life. She also struggles with being the youngest in the pack, the "pup", and can't seem to find her place among her pack members. Liam struggles with his new identity and power, angry and confused. Not only that, a growing number of assassins are coming after all of them - or, more likely, the prices on their heads.
