Kai expected school to mean homework, awkward introductions, and maybe figuring out how to survive without embarrassing himself too badly. At Ashveil Academy, Kai is quickly labeled unusual, even by magical standards. His wand won't answer. A word no one else understands falls out of his mouth during sorting.
