22-year-old Gwen Stacy arrives in New York with nothing but a suitcase and a gracious advance from her new employer, Dr. Bruce Banner.

Fresh out of college and hundreds of miles from home, Gwen is determined to make a fresh start. The plan is simple: work hard, pay rent, keep her head down.

Then she meets Peter Parker, the painfully awkward boy-next-door who can actually understand half of the things she says about robotics and is somehow impossible to ignore.

But Gwen has never been good at leaving things alone. And when another job begins asking her to prepare for the possibility that New York's mightiest heroes might become its greatest threats, the lines between caution and fear become dangerously blurred.
