Irene remembers nothing from the last 8 months, nothing at all. Her therapist says it is a chemical problem in her brain, something within herself too deep to touch, something she was born with, and could never go away. But, sometimes, when a specific smell or a texture reaches her senses she is able to remember bits of who she is. This phenomenon becomes even more recurring when a new neighbor moves to the empty apartment in front.
