Kenzie, a 3rd grade girl learns her father has the flare and struggles as she watches his health slowly dissolve. Kids are disappearing or being taken as "recruits" for WICKED and as she gets older she begins to separate the lies she's been fed to the withheld truth. When she's striped from her mother to be used in "helpful experimentations" she fights despite the discipline. She has a decision to make as she's faced with the fact that if she doesn't cooperate with the experiments she'll be taken somewhere far worse.

The usual starter pack of some character being the first girl in the glade and blah, blah, blah. Yeah..not what I'm gonna do. Let's start like this, trapped, hopeless, with no way out. That is the life in the glade. No one knows why they are there or how to get out. They try to keep each other in a state of sweet ignorance. Just to keep their sanity. And because Slovakia is some lost country in the middle of Europe I didn't yet get my hands on the Maze Runner books in English I only read them in Slovak and let me tell you that isn't as good...So I will be mainly basing this book on the movie, of course using some things from the books as well from time to time.
