A Romcom about Biological Horrors

Feed it organic material and it rearranges into an idiotic monster that only exists to propagate itself. The world has sealed itself off from an outbreak of these disgusting flesh monsters. Outside the enormous quarantine zones are small cleanup units sent to remove the infection and make the world fit for habitation again. The last cleaner in an infected town makes a startling discovery: one of the organisms can speak. He must decide if the new organism is a new intelligent lifeform acting on her own interests, or just a ploy by the infection to make him drop his guard.
