Vespera

Quod pingitur, manet.
Quod celatur, clamat.

Every autumn, the Ten Houses send their brightest heirs to compete in a centuries-old ritual of art, magic, and memory.

Mallory Saint-Clair has no noble blood, no inherited magic, and no place among them. Nonetheless, she is the only remaining heir to the lost noble bloodline of her great-great-great-grandmother, whom she barely knows, and the only one who can represent her House. Until a forbidden Greek painting begins to weep blood and she discovers a third figure hidden next Orpheus and Eurydice. A figure whose face has been erased. Forced to work alongside Stellan Alexio DelaCroix, the academy's coldest and most brilliant heir, Mallory must uncover the truth before the ritual claims another generation.
Because the students who fail do not die.
They become ghosts, trapped with the memories of those who came before them.

And the deeper Mallory ventures into the painting, the more terrifying the truth becomes.

The myth was never what they were told or what it seemed...
