Kai is a teenage Charizard with a life that looks perfect from the outside. At first, the two clash. Kai thinks River is cold and distant, while River assumes Kai is just another spoiled rich kid. But after awkward school projects, late-night conversations, sneaking out to explore the city skyline, and helping each other through family struggles, the walls between them slowly begin to crack.
As feelings grow stronger, Kai must decide whether he's willing to stand up to his father's expectations and be honest about who he is-and who he loves. Meanwhile, River struggles with fears of getting too attached after years of constant moving and watching his dad sacrifice everything for him.
Set in a modern Pokémon world full of drama, humor, friendship, and heart, this coming-of-age (probably Cringe) romance is about identity, pressure, family, and finding someone who makes you feel at home for the first time.
