The One I Never Forgot

Everyone knew Lilith had a crush on her brother's best friend.

She was eleven when she first met Zane. He was twenty, completely off-limits, and far too old for the ridiculous feelings she'd developed for him.

Then Lilith grew up.

She got a boyfriend. Moved an hour away. Built a life of her own.

And for three years, she didn't see Zane.

Until her grandmother's funeral brings him back into her life.

At twenty-three, Lilith is no longer the little girl everyone teased about being in love with her brother's best friend. Zane is thirty-two, has a house in the same town, and suddenly seems to be everywhere she turns.

Then Lilith's relationship falls apart.

With nowhere else to go, Zane offers her a place to stay.

It's supposed to be temporary.

Just two people with years of history sharing a house until she gets back on her feet.

But the longer Lilith stays, the harder it becomes to ignore the tension between them.

So they make rules.

No feelings.
No expectations.
No telling her brother.
And most importantly...no falling in love.

Because some lines aren't meant to be crossed.

And some people are impossible to forget.
