Someone once said it beautifully:

"When you choose to trust someone, trust them completely. Either you will gain a good friend for life, or you will gain a lesson that stays with you for a lifetime."

I had never learned to place my trust in anyone.
Then someone came along, and I knowingly took the risk of believing in the person they were.

I saw the lies, felt the deception, yet kept convincing myself that once I had chosen to trust, I had to see it through.

But some truths repeat themselves again and again, until I have no choice but to accept them.

And in the end, once again, the relationship left me with nothing more than one thing:

A lesson.
