Lexi LaPointe was never supposed to have the life she has now.

At twenty-four, she's a Chief Petty Officer, a member of SEAL Team 6, one of the most feared snipers in the military, and the only sniper to also serve as a military dog handler. With over 200 confirmed kills after only six years of service, she's earned the name "The Female American Sniper." But behind the reputation, the medals, and her German Shepherd, Dinger, is a woman who would do absolutely anything to make sure her people come home.

Long before the military, Lexi was a basketball prodigy. She held practically every national high-school scoring record, won four straight state championships, and was the number-one recruit in the country.

Then she walked away from it all.

What started with watching Cars in a common room turned into a friendship, then a relationship, and eventually a marriage. Ten years later, Paige Bueckers is still the person Lexi trusts most.
