Ketapang, West Borneo.

It was supposed to be an ordinary day.

Fourteen-year-old Alvaro is spending the morning with his two closest friends, Willy and Celine. They're joking, eating, playing games, and enjoying what feels like another normal day.

Until a strange report comes through the television.

Something has happened in Kuala Lumpur.

An unknown infection is spreading.

People are becoming sick. Their bodies are changing. And then they begin to scream.

By the time the three friends realize something is terribly wrong, the infection has already reached Ketapang.

The infected are no longer acting like ordinary people. They are fast, aggressive, unpredictable-and they don't stop hunting.

As panic consumes the city, Alvaro, Willy, and Celine are forced to run for their lives, relying on each other and unexpected survivors to stay alive.

But surviving the first day is only the beginning.

Because the Screechers are learning.

And somewhere beyond the chaos, something much worse may be waiting.
