The Hail Mary's radar detects a celestial body. An immense body, unmistakably different from an ordinary asteroid. Its size gives it away. The ship approaches it from the right. Too close. Grace doesn't want to waste fuel escaping its orbit, if they end up trapped. He assumes he is glimpsing the last planet of a solar system.
But it's not.
He feels his heart tighten in his chest, and a lump in his throat. He leans his body forward as far as the restraints allow, while gripping the sides of the chair with all the strength his tired muscles allow him to use.
He gulps.
The faint starlight reflects upon the blood. The thick, red liquid devours its glow with a voracious gaze. The surface of its crimson mantle watches the heavens in expectation, stirring - restless - before the presence of eternity. The void stretches infinite, inexorable, ineffable. It corrodes air, flesh, and iron.

"Well this is awkward." The boy joked as their weapons were trained on his figure. "Who are you and how'd you get in here?" The assassin questioned, her gun lingering on him. She pulled him to his feet with her free hand. Before he could answer, though, she hit him in the head with the butt of her gun, rendering him unconscious. Whispers of the Forest (Legolas x Male OC)
Rain fell, wetting the mountain path and causing the rocks to become slick. Thunder rumbled somewhere in the distance, accompanying a previous flash. A soaked figure trudged along in the downpour, sure-footed and hidden by a dark black cloak. Twin swords hung at their side along with a bow strapped to their back with a full quiver of elvish arrows. A satchel hung across their chest, holding very few things. Some bandages and medicine, a change of clothes, rope and a single piece of paper marked with the King of Mirkwood wax symbol. A contract of employment one could say. A love story based during The Lord of the Rings. I do not own anything but my own characters (Sîrion) and any changes to the plot. J.R.R Tolkein was a genius and his world is much too interesting to not write about.Complete
