Something is watching the children of Deadwood Hollow. Fourteen-year-old Eric Winslow thought the disappearances were just another horrible thing happening in his tiny Maine town. Then something appeared outside his bedroom window. A white face. A black figure. A bloodstained glove. And it wanted him to follow it into the woods. As more children disappear, Eric and his friends Lucy Black-the relentlessly curious daughter of a local detective-and guarded, sharp-tongued Louis Stevenson begin searching for answers of their own. The police believe they're hunting a killer. The kids believe it's something else. Because killers don't vanish between the trees. Killers don't appear outside locked windows in the middle of the night. And killers certainly don't disappear into thin air. Whatever lives in the woods has been watching Deadwood Hollow for a long time. Now it's watching Eric. And every night, it gets a little closer. Welcome to Deadwood Hollow. Whatever you do, don't follow it into the woods.

An Evil Spirit doesn't want to kill Leaz. It wants to keep him - own him Leaz is just a chill, lazy guy who handles life by making dumb jokes and avoiding drama. He isn't smart, strong, or special. He's completely ordinary. Then, he goes to a secluded farmhouse for his best friend's 20th birthday party. It was supposed to be a night of free food and loud laughter. Instead, something evil looks back at him from the dark. Now, his reality is breaking. Shadows move on their own. His reflection winks at him when he isn't smiling. But the horror stalking him isn't a mindless ghost. It doesn't want to destroy him. It finds him interesting. Trapped in a twisted game with a cosmic monster, Leaz realizes no one believes him. Worse, his notoriously cheap best friend is suddenly acting strangely perfect. Leaz must figure out why he was chosen before he loses his mind. Because at this party, the music is loud, the doors are locked, and the night never ends.
