Left behind without explanation, a forgotten human slowly rediscovers breath, sensation, and choice in a world that has already proven it cannot be trusted. I Came to Nothing is a quiet work of philosophical horror about consciousness, inevitability, and the strange work of becoming alive again. Author's Note I don't write stories to answer questions. I write them to let readers inhabit them. If you leave seeing the ordinary world a little differently than when you arrived, then the story has done what it came to do.
