Set between two decades in Bangkok, this story follows Miu, a woman displaced from her own time and forced to live forward in a past that should not be hers. As reality quietly frays around her, she crosses paths with Lena, a woman whose presence feels strangely inevitable. Drawn together by a connection that defies memory and logic, their growing intimacy unfolds against the pressure of time itself, where love becomes both a refuge and a risk, and the past may not be as fixed as it seems. In other words - Miu is from 2026 where she was drawn to an older woman. She got pulled back in 2006, where she met the younger version of Lena, not knowing how long she'd be stuck in the past, learning to survive and actually live.
Unexpected: A LenaMiu Story
Natsha Taechamongkalapiwat was never the type to take university seriously. As the only daughter and heir of one of Thailand's biggest airline companies, Miu has always been kind, charming, and effortlessly smart, but discipline has never been her strongest subject. Classes are optional in her mind, attendance is negotiable, and life is much easier when she can simply appear when necessary. Then she walks into class one day and meets Lorena Schuett. Lena is a scholarship student from Chiang Mai who has built her life around hard work, responsibility, and quiet determination. She has no time for distractions, especially not a rich girl who suddenly starts showing up too often, asking too many academic questions, and looking at her like attending class has become a life-changing experience. What begins as curiosity slowly turns into something neither of them planned. Between university halls, café shifts, late-night study sessions, ridiculous friends, and choices neither of them fully understands yet, Miu and Lena learn that love does not always arrive loudly. Sometimes, it starts with someone simply showing up. And staying. Author's Note: I originally uploaded this story under LenaMiu: Fragments, a collection of LenaMiu AU short stories and one-shots. But after finishing it, I felt like this universe deserved its own separate story. So here it is, Unexpected, now standing on its own.

Then she gets assigned to Room 314. Lena doesn't fit into the neat diagnostic checklists. She's quiet, hyper, observant, and moves through the ward's structured routine like a ghost playing along with a game she's already figured out. She spends her free hours sketching intricate, nonsensical patterns on the backs of paper cups and staring out the reinforced glass at the courtyard below. When Miu is assigned to conduct Lena's late-night observations, the formal patient-therapist wall begins to crack. Lena sees right through Miu's clinical calm, asking questions Miu isn't supposed to answer. Between stolen quiet moments in dimly lit hallways, traded notes written on napkin scraps, and conversations that push far past medical ethics, Miu finds herself drawn to the very person she's supposed to keep at arm's length and Lena finds the one person who doesn't look at her diagnosis like a life sentence.Complete
