The Vedantam Curse............ At exactly 11:00 PM, Deepa sees something standing in the balcony of her house. It doesn't walk like a human. Its hands touch the ground. Its legs are unnaturally long. And its red eyes are staring directly at her. At first, Deepa believes it is only the beginning of a haunting. Then strange sounds begin. Voices come from empty rooms. Objects disappear. Foul smells fill the house. And something seems to be watching her family. But there is one thing Deepa doesn't understand. Why did all of this begin after her brother Sai brought home a pen he found near a newly opened orphanage? As Deepa searches for answers, she discovers that Sai is not her biological brother. His real family is the Vedantam bloodline-a family surrounded by unexplained deaths stretching back generations. And somewhere in that forgotten history is a secret that someone has spent centuries trying to keep buried. Deepa begins investigating. What she discovers will make her question everything she believes about her brother, her family, and the thing that is hunting them. Because some debts are never forgotten. And some deals are never truly broken.

She came looking for a story. The story was looking for her. In the mountains of Pakistan lies Barzakhpur - a village that phases in and out of existence. A place where the fog lingers too long and the dead don't leave. Taniksha Shah rents an old haveli for creative solitude. Instead, she finds Aslan Ijaz - silent, severe, and far too watchful for a mere caretaker. He tells her not to leave after dark. He doesn't tell her he's chained himself to a bed every night to keep something inside him from reaching her. Because the entity wearing his bones has started to hate the way he looks at her. And in Barzakhpur, love is a weakness the dead do not forgive.
