Ed, a small-time journalist desperate for a real break, gets his first lead via an encrypted tip from a military whistleblower. With the help of his roommate Al-a brilliant underground hacker and hardcore gamer-Ed follows the thread straight into a massive military-industrial cover-up. Before they can make sense of the evidence, government retrieval squads sweep in to reclaim their missing supply, launching a deadly hunt to silence the duo.

During a desperate escape in the heart of the city, an accidental exposure leaves one of them infected with X. As the drug takes hold, the line between reality and hallucination violently blurs. Paranoia sets in as their senses warp, forcing both men to question if the threats closing in are real or manufactured by their own melting minds.
