After Class, Before Us
Kaira Redwyn never expected Hogwarts to be easy.
Born into an influential wizarding family, with a pure-blood Slytherin father and a Muggle-born Gryffindor mother, Kaira has inherited the best and worst of both worlds. She is clever, ambitious, fiercely independent, and far too stubborn to let anyone tell her where she belongs.
But being a half-blood in Slytherin isn't exactly the easiest way to start her Hogwarts story.
Between finding unlikely friends in Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood, becoming part of the Weasley twins' increasingly questionable plans, discovering her talent for Quidditch, and dealing with enemies who are determined to bring her down, Kaira slowly finds her place in the castle.
Then there's Draco Malfoy.
He is arrogant. Competitive. Infuriating.
And, unfortunately, he's good at almost everything Kaira is good at too.
From their very first encounters, the two turn nearly everything into a competition. Grades. Quidditch. Spells. Arguments. Even who can irritate the other more.
Neither is willing to lose.
Neither is willing to back down.
And neither expects that somewhere between the endless challenges, sarcastic remarks, school corridors and ordinary days at Hogwarts, something will begin to change.
Because sometimes the people you begin by competing against become the people you trust most.
And sometimes, what happens after class becomes far more important than anything they were taught inside it.
Kaira Redwyn came to Hogwarts expecting a house and a future.
She never expected to find a rival who might eventually become something more complicated:
A friend... or something else entirely.
