What We Left Over There

Ernest, a soldier tasked with the horse teams pulling artillery, finds himself infatuated with his superior after a vulnerable moment. The men slowly unravel a relationship that they never expected while trying to hide it from everyone else.

After the war their forced separation becomes almost permanent as Ernest is left in the dark. Battling his own demons from the war he is falling deeper into a dark hole until a letter arrives. A wedding invitation.

Unable to stay away he rushes to be near his lost love, intending to seek closure and say goodbye to the man he once thought his soulmate. But the week together reignites the flame between the two and an affair blooms.

What follows is the painful unraveling of a marriage, family, and lives built upon lies of having let each other go.
