Hogwarts is a place of magic, but magic has its shadows. Long before the history books recorded her name, Dolores Umbridge was simply a young Slytherin sharing secrets in the castle courtyard-poised, neat, and holding tight to her first true friend, Matilda. Where Dolores sought structure, Matilda brought warmth and laughter.
Severus watched from the fringes, silent and guarded. But lurking in the background was Bellatrix-volatile, dangerous, and drawn to a darker path.
Then came the day everything shattered. Something terrible unfolded in the shadows, leaving Matilda's fate wrapped in silence and Dolores forever changed. The warmth inside her vanished overnight, replaced by a ruthless obsession with absolute control. What truly happened on the grounds that day remains hidden, but from its ashes emerged the cold, unyielding Ministry official the wizarding world would come to fear.
