Callie Jane never expected the emergency department to become part of her life.

As a pediatric attending, she's spent years safely upstairs, far away from the chaos, the mess, and the physicians who seem to think every problem can be solved by simply sending it to pediatrics. But when the hospital finds itself facing a lawsuit and plummeting patient satisfaction scores, Callie is sent downstairs for three months to help fix the problem.

She plans to keep her head down, do her job, and get back to pediatrics as soon as possible.
