Daisy and Thomas Jones have built a quiet, happy life in Wales with their three children: sixteen-year-old Peter, fifteen-year-old Jack, and their five-year-old daughter, Sarah. Both successful lawyers at the same Welsh law firm, Daisy and Thomas have always believed that their family is unbreakable.

But on the morning of Wednesday, 5 August 2026, everything changes.

During what was supposed to be a perfect family holiday in New York, five-year-old Sarah Jones mysteriously disappears from the hotel where the Jones family are staying with their close friends. Within hours, a missing-child investigation becomes an international obsession, with the Jones family and their friends suddenly placed under intense police scrutiny.
