Deep in the woods of DeKalb County, Alabama, sits a small cabin belonging to Jason Brown.
At thirty-two, Jason is the kind of man everyone in town knows. He works hard between farming and construction, keeps to himself, and spends his free time hunting and practicing taxidermy. In a small Appalachian community where everybody knows everybody, Jason has never given anyone much reason to question him. He's familiar. He's dependable. He's ordinary.
But the woods around his cabin hold things that no one in town knows about.
Things Jason has spent years keeping hidden.

Then, one night, something falls from the sky.
Something that should not exist.
And Jason finds it.
Whatever has come down into the Alabama wilderness will change his quiet life forever-and force him to confront the darkest parts of himself.
